they're overly simple... there is no thinking... a lot of fast guys suck at football... so speed doesn't always matter or a lot of the super speed guys wouldn't be bust so dang often.
Also they are done when a player is fresh and ready to go... which is track, not football. Which is why I've heard some teams (Cowboys) test their guys at times, at the end of hard practices, and not when they're fresh.
Jerry Rice was never the fastest but he's considered the greatest WR, and people have talked about Rices consistent speed throughout a complete games, where other guys have peaks and valleys with their speed, Rice seemed just as fast on every single play because of his amazing conditioning.
AL SO ONLY RUNNING TWICE?... that's a very small sample... some guys play a hell lot faster than they test including Jordy Nelson. Others play a lot slower than their combine numbers.
