What I like is that it has made me look at so many different players I would have ignored with out doing it .
Edmonds I had saw in a mock draft from one of the many out there with the Packers taking him at 14. Didn't know or had heard anything about him.
I'm not sure I would take him at 14 but he is a interesting player for sure,
Highly rated in the NFL scouting reports I think he had a 7.24 grade.
That's up there!
I know a lot of people don't give the combine and the work out much weight in the scheme of things. I look at it as tie breaker.
You have two players, you have them equally rated from your scouting reports and film study.
In the end who is the better athlete? The combine does that.
Example two CB's same size, same production in college, one runs a 4.56 and another runs a 4.40 who do you pick?
One has exceptional agility the other doesn't who do you pick?
For me I give more credibility to agility and quickness if the 40 times are close. Change of direction and ten yard times make More of a difference to me.
Do you care how fast of a 40 time a DT runs or a OG? No not really. But what are their ten yard time Short shuttle and three cone drill.
Linebackers and DB's I want to see all of it, 40 time, ten yard, agility, explosion, same with the offensive skill players, TE, RB, WR.
We will see what the new GM really thinks about the roster with moves made at the start of FA.
It 's going to be interesting in the least.
Remember one thing that terrible 2017 Packer team did is beat the Eagles 24-9.
