Re: Let's pump the brakes on Tim Boyle
My simple take on this: I had hoed and pulled for Hundley to get it and be able to take care of business if needed and he didn't. He didn't a take care of business in a miserable way, he was a frightened and confused rabbit on the field. So my give him a chance meter is pretty much at a 5 of 100. Kizer was gotten in a trade for a reason, he at least showed poise and an ability to get the ball down field. Hell I think he threw more TDs at Lambeau than Hundley did. Now Boyle has showed up and has stood in the pocket; looking calmer and more confident in the pocket than either Hundley or Kizer. He played at a small school, he had a horrible TD:INT ratio, but what was the team around him like? I'll take Boyle, either on the 53 or the PS over Hundley all day long. Hundley had his chance and clearly did not either listen or comprehend the coaching he was given. Th only reason we are going to see a bunch of Hundley in these games is to pump up the trade value. Good guy, but he isn't the guy we need as a BU. As for Yoop's comment about Boyle showing that he stands in the pocket with a rocket arm I counter with all the B!)ch!ng about Hundley running for his life with eyes down with a perceived pressure and dumping it off at three yards off target. Boyle over Hundley all day.
