The punt that supposedly bounced off our defender and led to an early DET lead int he lions game
The mis-played balls by Brice in the vikings and Skins games that end up as long TDs
the fumble in the Rams game
the fumble in the Pats game
The penalties, oh lord the penalties....
These are all things that happened. some of them are things that could be controlled, and some are not. My fear is that there is a culture of belief forming in the locker room and on the field that "these things are going to happen, and there's nothing you can do". To an extent that may be true - some bounces will not go your way. BUT, if you become resigned to the fact that you will have "bad luck", that is exactly what you will have.
When a ball is within reach, you have to GO AFTER IT.
When you are in position to make a tackle, you have to MAKE the tackle.
My point is that the last two games against two of the better teams in the league have been right there for the taking and it just feels like GB did not do all they could to be proactive and take the damn thing, rather that sitting back and waiting for something to happen. There is more to it than this, of course, but this intangible of "control your destiny' is something this team seems to be missing right now. Some might call it stones, or rocks, or cajones....
rant done, for now.
