Martinez, Ryan, Lowry played a bigger role, Montgomery, Rodgers, Ripkowski, Linsley, Lacy, Baktiari, Franklin, Hyde, Burnett, Jones and Jones, Sitton, Finley,
Last year alone two fifths, a sixth and seventh started and UDFA’s did too.
A fourth and a fifth in 2017 the list is long of player taken day three that came in and started or filled big roles.
I am not saying that you don’t have a better chance with a higher draft pick.
But the list of failed higher draft picks is quite long too, Jackson, Lee, Brohm, Neal, Green, Jones, Randell, Rollins, Thornton, Worthy, Sherrod, Dix.
Nearly 20% of the NFL’s rosters are made up of UDFA’s.
In 2017 there were more UDFA’s playing at least 40% of NFL teams offensive or defensive snaps then any round other then the first.
So talent is every where, players that can come in and play meaningful snaps. This team has plenty of holes and by trading away those later picks you can miss out on players that can and do come and start or play meaningful snaps.
You trade away multiple picks for one player and that player busts, you lose out on all lot more then just that player.
