- Cap hit of $7.8M in 24, and $17.25M in 25. With that big a leap in one year, this will likely be a top restructure candidate next offseason.
- It's essentially a 2-year deal for McKinney, with two one-year options for the team
- If the Packers cut him in the 2026 offseason, they save $7.6M on the cap, and won't have to pay his 2026 roster bonus of $8.5M
- In terms of GB contracts, this one is pretty standard. Expect him to be on the team for awhile with multiple restructures.
Josh Jacobs

- Cap hit of $5.3M in 24, and $11.3M in 25. While that's a big jump, an $11.3M cap hit for a likely top 10 RB is reasonable. I wouldn't restructure this deal if it wasn't necessary
- It's essentially a 1-year deal for Jacobs, with three one-year options for the team
- If that Packers cut him after just one season, they save $2M on the cap and won't have to pay his 2025 roster bonus of $5.9M
- Ideally, Jacobs plays two year of this deal without any restructures, and could walk away with minimal damage in the 3rd or 4th year
- The Packers front-loaded this deal probably for two reasons. One, because he's a RB. Two, because the Packers have a LOT of guys who will be looking for new deals in the next two-three years.
One of the most important things to look at with these contracts is identifying where the team can get out of it. Obviously the hope is both players work out and play the full duration of the contract, but that's often not how free agency works. So expect McKinney to be around for awhile, while Jacobs could be a cut candidate very quickly if things turn south.
