Japanese's Shohei Ohtani is called (by some) as the the modern day Babe Ruth as he's both such a good Pitcher AND Hitter. (If that's false, I don't really know much about baseball).
Ohtani's friend and longtime interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, drained millions of dollars from the player's bank accounts to cover bad bets.
He basically said that it was his gambling debt, and that when he got too far in a hole — we have multiple sources telling us it's at least $4.5 million
And two stories from here...
1) The translator admitted these gambling debts to his good base and star player and the star player was very upset but decided to pay off the debt for his friend.
2) The translator stole the money without the star players knowing what happened.
Either way the translator is fired from the baseball team, and I assume the star player too.
