Is it the software fault or is it the cable fault ? You could try to copy the error message and paste it. I need the error message as detailed as possible . About such landlords who do not know how to appreciate nice words and good will , maybe it's time to create or call some shadow beings to pester them and a bit of chills for them to teach them a lesson or two or they would not learn to be nice. Well , I don't think it's harming them since the intent is not to harm but to pester and make sure they learn to be nice. Anyway, there's some cases where japanese ofudas(paper charms) are stuck to electronic devises and somehow the electronic device would start working for no apparent reason. (Authentic japanese ofuda charms are hard to find in the West).

It seems like the internet lines have been making so much of a mess. Dial up lines are not very reliable , to be honest . They break off rather easily and they are dependent on a phone line. Phone lines are built to carry small ammount of conversation during normal calls but somehow someone just thought of engineering internet over phone lines which is pretty foolish.
