As I do a great deal of reading, I've amassed a large collection of Witchcraft & New Age books. While I've enjoyed reading the majority of them, the best book I've read in a very long time is called "The 8 Steps To Enlightenment. Awaking The Buddha Within" Tibetan Wisdom For The Modern World, by Lama Surya Das.
While you may think that non of it's teachings would apply to a Witch, I found that the whole book did! It was a real page turner, and it actually totally changed how I handle stress, and the way I see people, the world around me, but most importantly, how I see myself.
I found a staggering amount of incredibley sage advice about countless things at a time when I really needed to get my head together (after I found my husband of over 20 years severly decomposed on the couch) when I stopped in for a visit while I was in the middle of doing a cross country bike/hitchhiking adventure. It contains so much wonderful advice and is presented in such an easy to understand manner that makes it clear that you don't have to be a buddhist to find the information useful, I keep it at the edge of my bed, and scan through it whenever I'm feeling low. And it always seems to turn to a page that says just what I need to hear. I can't recommend any book higher than this one, and seriously suggest that anyone interested in improving themselves, their health and their general state of mind to buy it. You can get it really cheap on Ebay. Have any of you read a book or books that deeply moved you? Can any of you recommend any books to read that you enjoyed for whatever reason?
