I usually read non-fiction for learning purposes, which usually has no emotional attachment. However, I did enjoy "The Journey Home" by Lee Carroll. It's a parable story in the Kryon Series of books about channeling. My friend had me read them all. I thought they were rather cultish and repetitious, but I did enjoy some of them - especially The Journey Home. I took what I needed from them spiritually and left the rest. But, I've been known to find enlightenment in the dictionary when looking up a word
.
I also enjoyed "My name is Asher Lev" by Chaim Potok. It's an old novel from the '70s. Someone left it laying on a table at work and I ended up reading it on my breaks. I'm not Jewish and though it somewhat enlightened me on their customs and faith, it was one of the most heart-wrenching stories I've read. It's about an artist and shows the depth of what strong religious holds can do to the soul. I totally loved it and was crying by the end.
Well, that's Summer's picks for the week!
I'm going to look into the Buddhist book you mentioned. I'm unfamiliar with that faith and am curious as to how it would connect to being a witch. The spirit has many colors and crosses so many lines.
