I had read all of your essays before I came to the cottage, except Witchcraft 101, which I am still doing...but, I did re-read this particular section to refresh my memory before I responded to you. I also think some of my response here may be repeated information, so forgive me if some of it looks familiar. I currently have a crystal ball almost as large as the one in your picture --here's the repeat, I'm cleansing it through 13 full moons (as described in one of my witchcraft books by Judika Illes and I'm on # 7 as of Nov 24th). I received this as a Christmas present from my husband some 15 or so years ago. He got it at Sears department store, of all places. I'm not sure what it is, though -- lead crystal, maybe? It's heavy. I'm sure some type of quartz crystal or something would be better..I just don't know. He bought it for me to add to my collection of wizards, dragons, etc. I had no intention of doing anything with it at the time, except letting it look pretty. Now, as I'm getting older, I'm having even more prolific dreams (as if that's possible) and I'm not even sure what I'm going to do yet..it's as if something is just giving me information "one line at a time" (in reference to a dream where my grandmother told me this is how I will learn). So, I feel like I'm preparing for...something. I have not read my own cards since 1973. It was at that time I used Ouija boards and authentically lived in a spirited house. I GOT FREAKED OUT!!! I was too young and inexperienced and was frightened for years (that should be a small lesson for the younger people that read this site). I did finally get the nerve to have my cards read this past summer on 6th street in Austin, Texas while visiting with relatives. It was funny (funny strange, not funny haha). She said I had made a new commitment in my life..and though I can't recall everything she said (too much partying on 6th street with all the bands playing!!), it was a positive, meaningful reading. My husband asked me what this new commitment was because I hadn't told him. It's the witchcraft..and it makes me feel "home".
