Nox did a great job of explaining the pentagrams and element directions, their are more energies associated with each direction but I would start with this, it should help you can get a feel of the energy of the quarters. 
just remember to banish at the end of the day. It takes time, dedication and work to get it all so just be patient, keep your mind open and study, you'll get there.
