Hi Novice, first of all, no matter what his mom did, it will not effect him or your family, we have free will and the choice not to accept things, entities etc. 
not sure about the diamond shape other than its cornered which wouldn't make it a circle, its more of points, maybe protection, the 3 colors are used for quarters and white would be spirit.
just have faith that you & yours are protected and don't give it anymore power, forget about it, don't talk about it, when you think of it, block it out and see Divine light surrounding you.
Demons can only inter us when we allow them to by believing they can or having a weakness such as drug abuse that gives them an opening.
What I'm trying to say is your have the power to rebuke it, you will always be protected as long as you see yourself that way.
