I've been at this for a while now, a number of years in fact. I've dabbled in a lot of things, and I've even actively pursued them as aspects of my life. There is one thing, however, that I both respect and avoid at all costs, and that's playing with the weather.
"Jade," you might say, "The weather won't do something it doesn't want to, so what's to fear with trying?"
"Well," I answer with a dubious smirk on my face, belieing the sweat on my brow, "The simple truth is, you have to be an absolute lunatic to open yourself up to a storm."
Now, this isn't to say I've never done anything during a storm. I've worked with storms before, and yes you do experience the raw power of nature unleashed in an obvious and magnificent way. I avoid these things for the simple fact that I hold a healthy respect for them, and while weather magick is very powerful, I can achieve goals and enlightenment through other methods.
So, as I sit here, near to a window, looking out over storm-laden skies, watching bolts of lightning stray over the trees and listening to the roll of thunder cascade over my head; as I watch, with that self-same smirk I'm known for, that little half grin, my eyes following a young witch as she steps outside humming a tune to herself, I cannot help but think this one little thought:
Dang, weather witches are nuts!
