To be honest, if you came to me last year, and told me that Tinkerbell has cousins that live in the “real world,” I would’ve thought you a geek who has spent too much time playing WOW and reading fantasy novels. Of course, that was before I saw a gang of them in my backyard.
(No offense to geeks who play WOW and read fantasy novels. Some of my closest friends are geeks who play WOW and read fantasy novels).
I guess that I should’ve expected something like this encounter. Last year, I got a tarot reading in New Orleans. The reader told me that because I stepped off of the path, I would have to take the express train to catch up to where I was supposed to be by now. To me, fae equals express train.
The funny thing is that the Fates have seen fit to give me several teachers on the subject of fae. I didn’t know that I knew so many people who have had experiences with them. I’ve got someone who hung out with them most of her life. I’ve got someone who has studied their lore and court structure most of his life. I’ve got someone who has them in her family tree. And, I’ve got a bulletin board of witches. Go fig.
I kind of feel like Will Smith in MIB. I assume there are more things out there that I have never heard of, seen, or didn’t believe in. And, one day (probably soon), this will all become normal for me. But, for right now, it’s all still more than a bit freaky.
