Nice. So far the only animal that came to me was a butterfly. I was very young (I was like 5
years old) and I was one day, sitting on the grass. Then it came: A small, orange butterfly, who was flying around me.
Another day, it came to my finger. I remember I took it to the water pot of our dog: and it did even drink some water.
The only thing I`m sad, is that one day it came, and I accidentaly fell, not only hitting myself hard on the head but also killing the poor butterfly.
So far no butterfly has ever come to see me again, (but I`m still sad for this one, I really like it).
Worst of all I consider it my fault because I killed it(if I had not fell down...)
However, since the first time it came too se me, I saw butterflyes (and also other insects) not longer as small annoyances, but as small animals, that one could like them or not, but there is no necesity to kill them(for this reason I don`t use anti-bug sprays)
And also, now that I`ve been looking around, well could the butterfly be a an animal totem.
Finally I would like to say (again) that this changed my view of insects. I used to view the bees as dangerous mosquitos who flew around annoying; and now I see them as hard-working animals who do their best for their colonies.
Even more: weren`t for them (And many other insects, like the butterflyes) farmers will have a hard time trying to make the pollem go from a flower to another.
So that`s it. Next time you see an insect, I`ll like you too do two things:
1) See if it`s hostile(if so go away)
2) If it is not hostile, look at it for a moment and see how it lives. How it moves around, how it gathers food, ect.
You may end up finding another animal totem!(Or at least an animal friend, for if you place a flower for a bee to pollinize, it will come back, surely!)
