Sometimes just to make sure that my pendulum is working properly, I ask it obvious questions to check it's accuracy, such as "Am I alive?", "Am I A Man?", "Is my hair black?"...you get the idea. It's always good to make sure it's ready for use and doesn't have any negative or disruptive energy on it. If it does, cleanse, charge and wear it for a few days. Also, before you ask it a question, make sure that you have your arm and hand in a position that is comfortable enough for you to be able to steady and hold it perfectly still.
If your hand or arm is in a position where it can get tired, it can cause your pendulum to swing around from the discomfort and give you false answers.
