I'm late again, but..I've always been attracted to Native American culture. I like to collect feathers. One of my favorite things is a pair of leather braid holders I got on Mackinac Island, Michigan when I was 18. I would braid my hair and add feathers. I owned a pair of knee high lace up mocassins and also a leather halter top with feathers. I once wore this to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire and the character that was Sir Frances Drake asked me, "Did you kill the bird yourself, m'lady?" Fun stuff. Also, the first time I saw the movie Braveheart (I am part Scottish and Irish, among other things), I commented that they were just white Indians (clan and tribe are pretty much the same, eh?).
Years ago I dreamt of a huge wolf, walking on two legs and saying it would be my master. Being in another place in time and not understanding -- I killed the wolf in my dream. I realize now that what I did is I killed my "teacher". It has taken me years to get here from denial of what I am.
A few years ago, we were in Marysville, Washington. We were shopping on a nearby reservation and the man running the shop looked just like a biker...then,he began speaking of belonging to the local Tulalip Tribe and about their ceremonies. He made drums, among other things. He began banging on a drum he had just created. His name was Whaa-Ka-Dup and while he banged the drum, he said, "Here that? It's the heart beat in us all." I started crying in his shop. I could cry now. It's so very spiritual and so beautiful.
And now..a question: Has anyone ever heard of this? I had someone once tell me to lick the back of my teeth. If they are curved, you have Indian decent in you somewhere. If they are flat, you do not. I've only heard of this once, from one person, but it was someone who is very spiritual and literally -- sees guides and spirits (his mother does also, who lives in New Mexico, Spirit Dancer).
Some of this may be repetitive from previous posts long ago, but thanks for letting me share once again.
Blessings on the wind....
