Ah, but magick is all around us, in simple things we do. Think about this, the old saying, whistle while you work, when you do something in joy, your creating a positive energy.
Scott Cunningham's Wicca for the solitary practitioner explains it as "magick - The movement of natural energies (such as personal power)to create needed change. Energy exists within all things - ourselves, plants, stones, colors, sound, movements. Magick is the process of rousing or building up this energy, giving it purpose, and releasing it. Magick is natural, not supernatural, practice, though it is little understood."
So if you think about it that way, every time you work your garden, feed wild live, recycle, keep Mother Earth clean by not littering or picking up trash and you find joy in these actions, then your creating positive magick in a more mundane way.
I don't use spell books, I have one that I picked up a long time ago and then in some of my other books, there's spell, but like you, I choose to write my own. The three books that I mostly use for reference are all Scott Cunningham's,The Complete Book of Incense, Oils & Brews, Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem, and Metal Magic Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs.
As far as spell work for Mother Earth,I have done rituals just for that, I used the same format that I always use for a full, blown out ritual, gathers my healing herbs to make the altar incense and used a healing oil with a candle for Her. I always honor the Goddess and Earth in every ritual I do, no matter how simple or complex.
Hope this helps,
Bright Blessings in Love & Light ![]()
