Your responses were all very helpful, and very insightful as always
I'm so glad I found this forum...the OLD forum I used to frequent, hardly anyone ever responded, and if they did, it wasn't always friendly (I remember once a group of so-called witches insulting and belittling a male witch simply because he was male. Awful behaviour
)
But I digress;
Spirit Dancer: Don't worry that your advice wasn't exactly formal...I don't have much time for formalities anyway, and I too am pretty informal. Your response (and everyone else's) makes me very glad that Spring is finally here. As beautiful as winter is, I find it very difficult to FULLY appreciate nature when most of it is asleep. Looking forward to long walks on the beach again! Also, I'm not sure if I ever congradulated you on your new name? Congradulations, and good luck
Crystal Wolf: Every time you reference Scott Cunningham, it makes me want to run to Chapters and snatch a few copies of my own. Also, once my boyfriend (who is pagan) stopped by our local 'new age' store and the cashier lady greeted him by saying "Let me guess, you're here because of a girl?" He was actually picking up a book on greek mythology he had reserved. How many lonely hearts must rely on magick for her to make that assumption?
Aurora: Like you said..."amen to that!"
Celeste: Thank you for the menstrual blood tip! I have a bamboo plant that is rather sickly, and a rose bush devoid of actual roses XD I'll make sure to try this as soon as that time rolls around. And of course I only use tools that I feel are right, I just like references to get me pointed in the right direction. For example, I personally don't find roses symbolize true love very well. To be blunt, they are fussy, delicate flowers. I'm not interested in fussy, delicate love, thanks.
It's funny that you should describe them as protective tho...I have a rose charm that I created specifically as a charm of protection.
I'm going to be having a second, private Earth Hour later this month. The lights-out bit will be a night, of course, but I think during the day I'll take all a y'alls advice and spend it outdoors, admiring the lake and the forest.
Blessings
