Hello and welcome to the Cottage!
I have information on how to meditate on my web site. The link is the one next to the one you pressed to make your post.
Basically, all you have to do is get comfortable, lower the lights,
sit for a moment and just let your body settle into a natural, posture,
keep your eyes slightly open or closed,
inhale slowly and deeply so your stomach expands,
hold for a few seconds, exhale pushing the air out as much as you can.
As you inhale, you can imagine that the air coming into your body is silver and sparkling, clearing out any negativity in your body,
As you exhale imagine the air as smokey gray or black. Carrying away any negative energy.
If you want you can count by seeing a big black chalk board in your minds eye. See the number 1 in the color of your choice (I recommend silver or white), as the negative air leaves your body, let the number disintegrate like sand falling, then see 2 as you inhale again, and so on.
Don't expect to feel a certain way from meditating. Don't put any expectations on yourself or pressure yourself. That defeats the whole purpose. Basically, all you need to do is just relax and breathe
