Different people have different methods of poppet magick. You can keep it for the for the person you are healing or you can give it to the person you are healing. It's up to you to decide. If the healing is already completed then the magick has done it's job. The poppet is as good as a rag doll so if they throw it out... it does not matter. But human's magick are not perfect. There are worries among practitioners that some energy might still exists in objects that are once used for magick so there are methods to dispose tools once used for rituals and magick properly or in simply term, to 'disempower' them before disposing them physically.
Poppets are neutral, like magick. Good or bad , mean or kind , depends on what is it's use for.
