Now I'm all confused. Other than to be with family or friends that are Christian, why would a Witch celebrate Christmas?
As for the Sabbats, they are not just something Wiccans celebrate. Actually the Sabbats, or turning of the wheel, have been around since before Christianity! The reason Christian holidays are all either on the same day or close to a Sabbat is because they invented holidays to try to get Pagans to convert to Christianity. It's pretty much common knowledge that Jesus was not born anywhere near Christian Christmas. Even scientists agree on that (just not the exact date he was born) which, last time I saw the learning channel, was between April & September.
Anyway...
I don't know a single Witch, no matter what their beliefs that don't celebrate or acknowledge them (Sabbats, or whatever you want to call them) in some way, shape or form. And as half of them are either solstices or equinoxes, celebrating at least those ones (the greater Sabbats as they are called), on the day they occur is (in my opinion) important in order to fully feel and experience the effects of the change in energy. But hey, that's just my opinion, and there's always a first time for everything.
