Last night I was on one of my research binges, and came across an idea that I liked a lot. So, I'm gonna share it here.
I think we can all agree that both blood and sacrifice are very powerful things. So, naturally, a blood sacrifice would be even more potent in spell/ritual work, right? We've all heard stories of putting a drop of blood on a piece of paper in a spell, and I'm sure we've all read Celeste's essay about the power of menstrual blood.
So here's the idea; blood donation! When you donate blood, you are sacrificing something of yourself. The blood that you gave then goes on to save people's lives! Just that thought alone makes it much more spiritual to me, because I think the true nature of sacrifice is sacrifice for the benefit of others, rather than for it's own sake. You can do it in the name of whatever powers you believe in, do a ritual before and after visiting the clinic, even enjoy light meditation during the process.
What's more, you're giving a whole pint away...much more than you could safely give at home, where only drops must suffice.
Obviously you should only do this if your health allows, and not terribly often. But if you are in need of both some good karma and extremely powerful results, I think it's a good idea. 
Any thoughts on the subject, guys? Y'know I love a good discussion.
