Juju is one of those four letter words that meand different things depending on the type of conversation that you are having. I, honestly, never thought about what the word meant or where it came from. I just know how to use it.
Since, I couldn't give you a specific meaning. I looked it up on Dictionary.com. These definitions pretty much fit to how I have always used the word.
"ju⋅ju
1. an object venerated superstitiously and used as a fetish or amulet by tribal peoples of West Africa.
2. the magical power attributed to such an object.
3. a ban or interdiction effected by it."
However, juju is also sometimes used to describe luck or karma (like mojo).
And, it can be used as a synonym for magick (no object necessary)
