I guess I just have blind faith, I've never checked it because I never had any doubt that it was there. I started out doing energy bubbles when I first started to practice the craft, so when it came to circle casting I had a great grasp on it.
That is a good idea to check yourself if you have doubt, after all any doubt can make your work fizzle out.
