I picked up my new Silkie babies today!!! I have 2 of them 
I've been looking at them for several months. I was only planning on 1 - but when I got there he asked me if I wanted a second... what was I to do??? Guess you all know the answer to that... 
One is 24 hrs old - and the second is 48 hrs. I've set them up in a small kennel with a lamp and all they need.
The breeder I got them from is one of the top show breeders in the state and he is Very active with his birds. I think it is sooooo cool that I now have "high end chickens"!!
One of them scared me to death about an hour after I got in! I had forgotten how babies lay flat out to sleep...
walked past and saw one (I think it was the youngest hatchling) all layed out and I thought I killed it! Opened up the door and it jumped up... all I could do was laugh. I'm sure I was quite a site!!
Here are some Adult Show Silkies...
BTW - one of the babies is as much Show Quality as these
