Some of us have been getting many calls looking for dogs. There is an element of our society (I use the term loosely)trying to acquire dogs under false pretenses. They are scouting rescues and shelters trying to get dogs for their blood sport hunting purposes and other disgusting practices. We have alerted the rescues, shelters authorities and groups interested in stopping this kind of thing. Legitimate buyers are fine and easy to tell the difference but this group is flooding the phones and mails. They are very easy to detect as they are not articulate nor are they willing to divulge any information when asked. A legitimate buyer will give any information required along with references that are easily checked.
With the recent impending laws regarding imports and shipping it is going to become much more difficult to acquire dogs. Some of the Southern states are enacting a program for stemming the hog population and this will encroach on the hunting and transport of feral hogs from on area to another which is already illegal and will now be enforced. Because of the mass destruction of crops the population of feral hogs and feral hunters will now be handled by the States. This has probably sparked the sudden surge for pups and young dogs. They are looking for pits, dogos and large type dogs mostly but be cautious with your smaller dogs as they can be used as bait dogs. Fluffy thrown into a pen with a terrified hog does not stand much of a chance.
While the feral hog sport is being taken away they are now looking into hunting bobcats, wolverines and other game so the dogs are still at risk. How long before bunnies will be on their list???
The premise seems to be something about fulfilling a destiny but I think it is fulfilling a blood lust for killing and nothing more. One has to wonder how many of these people have placed their lives on the line defending our country.
I strongly suggest that any request of any kind for a pup or dog be carefully researched before any kind of agreement or exchange can be made.
YOUR DOGS DEPEND ON YOU TO SAVE THEM FROM A HORRIBLE DEATH!!!!!
