In response to both Cathy and Norman both valid points. I for one hand my dog over to no one. Cathy may be right in that the broker (how do you get to be a broker??)will be regulated by ????.
Large less desirable dogs ( pits, dogos, rotties, etc)will likely not be acceptable. BSL will jump all over this and use it to enforce their laws for States. PETA will be all over this to get dogs put down. Only dogs that meet the requirements of those above including AKC will be eligible to live. Rare breeds are out unless AKC decides to register them gathering in more money.
This whole thing is a disaster in the making. Dog breeding will become a business belonging to a select few and all breeds will be regulated by some higher money power.
I for one am glad that I am on the downside slope of the mountain as I will be closing my kennel in a short time. I will be breeding one or two more litters as I have a long waiting list for previous buyers and that will be the point at which I will call it a day and just live out the rest of my time with my dogs. I know this will make a lot of people happy. I cannot any longer watch the declination of a breed by unscruplous money grabbing careless dog fighting idiots. Perhaps one day humans will realize the value of a good friend in a dog but I doubt it. That would require humans upgrading their values which means they would have to evolve into something at least equal to the dog and that will never happen.
The sudden influx of calls, the scrambling search of shelters and rescues for pups of any kind bespeaks of those looking for a quick buck before the roof caves in causing them to have to look for some kind of employment. The new regulations will destroy all dogs and the freedom of owners to have a loyal loving friend.
The decline of our Nation along with the decline of our personal freedom is now upon us and the dogs are only the first to go. We did nothing to stop it and so it is deserved.
