If I come live at your house will you cook for me and feed me as well as you feed your dogs?
I know the answer....I will fix my own!!!!
It is so easy and rewarding to fix these meals for dogs to keep them well. It actually costs less than feeding a high end dog food. It saves in vet bills as the general health of the dog is much better. Keep in mind also that the health of any dog reflects greatly on the behavior of the dog. Example: too much protein can make a dog frantic and cause severe weight loss and general health deterioration. Even if you work it is not difficult to prepare enough food. I make food once a week and it is enough for 8 adult dogs. All I have to do is take a measured portion out of the freezer each night for the next days feeding. Most of you are feeding one or possibly two dogs and so it would not be difficult for you to prepare enough food for them.
It is easy to open a bag of dry food and drop it in a dish for the dog. Think.....would you like to eat the same thing at the same time every day of your life????? I think eating would be a boring time. If you want a happy well nourished dog you might want to think about varying the diet with something yummy and worth eating. Come on folks is your best friend not worth a bit of time in considering their needs.
They love you so love them back with some good food that makes eating worthwhile.
Dog food companies have spent a lot of money in research to produce a commercial dog food. This is not to be disputed however keep in mind it has to produce a profit. It is a product for the market to make money and not because they have any profound love of dogs. Today's dog food bags with stunning glossy pictures of fine dogs in settings that make one drool at the thought of living in the mountains or valleys are promotional gadgets aimed at your perception of your dogs life. This is not realistic and yet we are taken by the ideas and dreams of what might be. Its called Wall Street promotion. You are paying for the glossy bag which contains much of the time a recalled food. Lets stop being fooled by big business and get back to reality for our dogs. This simple mix of oatmeal with yogurt, bananas. eggs and molasses is far better, much less expensive, has more nutritents and makes it a much healthier dog. Its called common sense with a bit of love stirred in.
Breakfast for the dog like a human is an important meal.
