When I was a kid the neighbors had a goose that ate all the smails and slugs in their garden and they had a wonderful vegetable and fruit garden. The goose beat me up one time when I climbed over the fence to pick some blackberries. To this day I'm more afraid of a goose than any dog.
I have a friend in Scotland who bought one of the smaller residences on an estate. There is a huge flock of geese on the estate. When she drives up to her house she scopes out the geese situation and determines how many seconds she has to get inside before the geese desend on her. It only takes one time being thumped by a goose to learn respect for birds.
