I have been sitting back watching the demise of a great and powerfull breed due to corruption and lack of ethics if any. I am now looking to return the breed back to its luster of days gone by.
The club would be named something like The FCI Dogo Club of the Americas. Including North and South America.
As the name suggests this would be a club where only FCI registered Dogos. The FCI registered members will post under their kennel names. Other people looking for information will log in under their names. I believe that this will also help non Dogo owners find a breeder that they are comfortable with. Thus eliminating the slight of hand of breeders saying well my dog has another registration. Not mentioning names. Lets face it if your dog dose not have FCI you can really not claim it’s a pure bred. As far as I know you had to Have FCI paperwork to joining some of these other clubs, so this should not interfear with other clubs policies.
Owners wishing to register their dogs will have to go one step farther in joining. The dog you wish to register must be DNA tested. This includes the Sire and Dam. This will insure the papers you have in your possession. It will also insure the breeding pair that produced your dog. This is to keep honest people honest.
This I feel will only inhance the breed. Making a breeder produce what is correct and weeding out puppy mills as well as breeders that use other dogs that they feel are inhansing the breed.
Shows will no longer be looked at as a joke. The dogs will be measured at the show. This will take the guess work out of it. This will send a message that if your dog is not within the correct standard it will not compete much less win. Loosing to a good dog is not a bad thing. Loosing to a dog that dosent have correct papers or not within the standard is a bad thing.
As for the hunters. I do not hunt but I do not totally condem this practice either. However for the most part this is not a hunting club. If someone has legitimate question about hunting then so be it. This is for information. That being said its not a board to display you latest kill.
Photos can only be posted of FCI dogs. This is a Dogo board. Not a pit mix board, not a cur dog board, not your kitten. I want people to see dogos and how they are suppose to look.
I do not feel this is to much to ask and I feel its long over due that the consumers get what they are paying for.
