I agree with both of you in many ways. I think the combinations of ideas are very good. I agree you should have some idea of breeding and genetics when you decide to reproduce any kind of dog. This would indeed reduce the backyard breeders. I also agree that cleaning up the registrations and making certain that only registered purebred dogs are used would be wonderful. I, for one, do not agree with "designer dogs". Just my opinion.
As far as the hunting aspect of the this breed in particular I did not glean a non-hunting idea from it but possibly a dog should be properly trained for hunting. While a dog is bred for hunting that does not necessarily mean it will hunt as designed and so putting a dog in harms way without proper training is what I read into it. I too do not hunt but some of my dogs do however I am very selective of buyers . This, as many breeds are very capable of various tasks and can be taught many services as the high level dog especially of the Rottweiller, Doberman, Visla, Pharohound and such are very capable of many various types of work other than what they are specifically bred for. This is what I read into the posts. And so I do agree with both in many ways and find the posts stimulating and informative. I do not profess to be the grand wizard of dogos in particular but having had them for many years and used them in several types of endeavors I have found them to be versatile and highly intelligent and wonderful dogs.
