i dont understand why you would need college level education...what criteria would you use?? there are vets here in mexico that could never pratice in the states because thier is more studies involved in the states..so would you limit breeders to just americans?? just because a person went to college does not mean they can read a pedigree better than anyone else, after all that is the starting point before you even consider breeding is which dog you plan to buy. that is if you are considering your lines and producing a good dog.
you cannot make your whole living off of dogs even with breeding high end dogs so how many people would go to college for that..
if you have a sound dog with breeding ie he will be structurely correct he will be better suited to hunt. i would never hunt my dog because i do not feel the need to do it..
being you are a college man and the closest i have been to an actual scientist do a graph...
add the number of dogs that hunt...
the number that die for whatever reason, weather poor or no trainning to no protective equiptment...
add cost of dog (what hunter paid)..
then add lifespan of that dog...
now add non hunted dogs..
and now add high end dollar dogs..
now your scientific part if they will let you do it..test as many dogs as you can by hunters and see how many have been mixed with another breed.
what was really downfall of breed??
being mixed?? no longer structurely sound??
lack of trainning??
which dog really lived the fuller happier life??
