Yesterday a friend who also does monthly service on my house in the form of maintenance of a kind stopped by and inquired about a puppy as he has had a Fila sometime ago but now is hooked on the dogo. He was very interested in the diet being used and will continue to feed this diet to his new pup. He was amazed at the condition of the dogs (he has had dogs for many years and has fed well but never a homemade diet)and mostly the simplicity of the diet had him baffled. Here in the country we do not have access to many things people in the city do and so we must be creative. Also cost is always a factor. After talking to Norman in Mexico and his having to adapt to changes he too decided to use the diet some of us developed and I surely give credit to Storm as she worked very hard on this. I must admit I am jealous of Norman and his open markets where he can get tons of fresh produce at minimal costs. A more natural country does have its merits.
Living in the country requires many changes to manage a few acres as a farmette producing crops for use while maintaining the habitat of the area.It has become a balancing act but one that has produced rewards beyond expectation. The secret is not to be greedy. There is enough for all. Trees are hundreds of years old producing shelter from wind and absorbing a deluge of rain and the animals that inhabit the woods including transients have learned to keep their distance tho the deer do enjoy some of the crops. This seems to be the secret. Sharing!!
And so this has enabled me to find a life style that gives me all I need and allows me to indulge in a raft of dogs that are strong, healthy and happy and once in a while a litter of little ones. And so when they leave in a few weeks a copy of the diet will go with them along with papers and an expectation of a long happy life as all the buyers once again are exceptional people.
This board has been an excellent tool and while we have few posters we have many lurkers and they too are taking away information that is essential.
