what is fair market value for a dog?? how does one come up with this price??
i know that if you are breeding to become rich off dogs you are way off base and you need to get a real job...its quality not quanity
i have seen dogs with poor lines going for over 1500 per puppy. claiming they are from proven hunting parrents, which means nothing. just because the parrents hunt dosent mean the offspring will. ask the hunters of any breed they will tell you that.
are there things that can be done to improve your puppies marketability??
i myself will have my female dna done so when i have puppies you can prove that they came from which the dogs i said they did. of course you dont see me with great danes or pit bulls on my property so it isent really an issue..but the parrents of my female were also done (dna)so i can go back that much farther...im not just providing a peice of paper with names but proof of the names on the paper.
i also know by putting more value on a dog they will be taken better care of not just a lawn ornament when they get to big.
but lets face it price is on everything for a reason..if you want to buy a yugo and thats all you can afford then do it you will be happy but if you want the top of the line model expect to pay that price.
