One option is to call the police department and tell them your dog was stolen and you have proof of ownership and you know where your dog is and you would like an escort to go retrieve your dog. They may ask you to come in and file a report first. If the dog is micro chipped and your vet can also provide proof of ownership it would likely help. If you have proof of ownership and the people that have the dog do not, this will likely work with no problems.
