Interesting post. I have to agree that it is most important to research the pedigree of the dog you are considering and then the breeder. Price should not be the determining factor,. More expensive is not always better yet you get what you pay for. Delimma!!!! My best dog ever was a rescue and tho I knew him inside out he was an abused rescue. Go figure.
Frills and bell ringing should not determine the worth of the dog or the breeder. Bloodlines are much more reliable yet require research over a period of time to know what they may produce.
I have been around a long time and my credentials along with honesty, reliability and infrequent breeding have made it fairly easy for me to sell puppies. No bell ringing here just a lot of time spent with people. I have always kept an open door and my kennel, not state of the art but comfortable, has always been open to potential buyers. If you do not like what you see you can leave. If my dogs do not like you it is their home and you can leave. I have found my dogs to be a much better judge of character than I. I have made lots of mistakes but they have not and so over time I have learned to listen. I guess that by now my brain is on the level of a canine at least I hope so. And so I think Norman has hit a home run.
