While in New Jersey for Advanced Training with my company, I was able to eat out a couple of nights and experience a bit of New Jersey. Most of the time we went to Macaroni Grill, Houlihans (which is much like an american food/brewery mix, or the company restaurant.
However, one night we did go over to a sushi restaurant which was very good. It was called Zen and it offered many good varieties of sushi. One unusual aspect was that it was BYOB which I have never seen in a restaurant. So we went next door to the liquor store and picked up some local New Jersey beer called Cricket Hill. We drank the east coast lager which was rich but went suprisingly well with the sushi. You can look up both Zen and Cricket Hill by clicking on the web links below:
