The first day, one of my co-workers was kind enough to drive us in to NYC and the Hilton Garden Inn. We Checked in and ran to get lunch at Kevin St. James on 8th Ave. It was a nice casual pub where you can sit near an open door and just grab a bite, drink a beer, and watch the city bustle. After that, Mallory and I walked to time square and took in the massive sights. We had both been there before but personally it was very stimulating as if I was looking at it for the first time. The only issue I think is the crick in your neck you get from constantly staring upward. We checked out the M&M store, Toys R Us, and several other cool looking places.
Then after strolling around for several hours we made our way back to 8th to eat at Ciro Trattoria. Here we enjoyed a nice italian meal with a bottle of reisling. ( http://www.cirotrattorianyc.com/ )
Overall, a nice start to the 1st day!
