After such a long hike yesterday, we decided to take the morning easy. We ate our breakfast at Pigalle and then walked over to Time Square to check out the Hershey Store. This store was a bit anticlimactic because the outside looks really cool with all the candy types with cool signs but then you go it and its nothing like its M&M competitor store accross the street. C'est la Vie!
Then we went back to the room to get cleaned up and dressed for the 3pm showing of WICKED at the Gershwin Theatre on 51st Street. This was absolutely unreal. The story is really a cool one and is based on a book by the same name. Then the music, costumes, set design, and performace keeps you all enthralled. I strongly recommend that if anyone has a chance to catch this musical, that they do!!! ( http://www.wickedthemusical.com/ )
After the musical we, walked around a bit but then came back to a restaurant that was literally across the street called the Palm. It was the nicest and most expensive restaurant we went to in New York. It apparently is a national chain, however, while there you feel like your in a local hot spot. On the walls were caricatures of famous people everywhere and many were signed beneath them by the people they resembled. This is a place where the have 3 people serving your table. In fact, at one point, a guy came over to crack Mallory's crab claws and pull the meat out for her so she wouldnt get any on her beautiful dress. Then, to top off a wonderful night, we were stuffed to the gills but they offered us a free dessert since it was our first time there. We got the biggest and richest chocolate cake I have ever seen and they packaged it for us to take it to go but it took us 3 days to eat and we never did finish it.
