Hello-
Lach here in the East Village of NYC to let you know of my upcoming 'Get Out Of The House' tour of the UK from July 19-29. I'll be playing ten shows in ten cities in ten nights (from Aberdeen to Brighton, so check the schedule below for the gig nearest you!) and I'm hoping you'll be able to make it out to a show.
Hoping? No, I know you'll be there because sometimes you, like me, just have to get out of the house. I mean, isn't that what Rock and Roll is all about? Getting out of the house?
I remember being a teenager at night in my house with my face pressed up against the glass peering out into the darkness. Waiting for that first glint of light on the stones at the edge of my driveway. That first glint that told me that Mike's car was turning into the drive and that liberation was at hand.
And my dad would ask the question that all dads throughout history have asked their teenage sons,
"Where are you going?"
And I'd answer the answer that all sons throughout history have answered back to their dads.
"Nowhere".
Just waiting, praying to see the light at the end of the driveway, the headlight.
And my dad would say, "What are you going to be doing?"
And I'd say, well, you know what I'd say, right?
"Nothin'"
Just pleeeeeaaaase Mike get here already...and then there it'd be! That glint of light! And, BAM, I'd be out the door with a hearty "See ya!" and Mike's white Dodge Rambler would pull up and I'd get in and off we'd go into the free teenage night, lighting the first joint and shoving the Kiss Destroyer 8-track into the player and shouting, "I want to Rock and Roll all night and party ev-er-ry day!!!"
Well, people, it's time once again to get out of the house! Below you'll see the schedule for the tour and the website links for more info. Feel free to write me back with your own stories of musical liberation, or better yet, tell them to me at the gig!
