Great stuff last night. I didn't really get to settle into the backroom until Bryan's set. Along with his drummer Penny they've got that guitar/drums thing down. Kelsey Bennett was next and her approach and phrasing is entrancing. It's weird like you think it's totally off and then you realize it's gotten under your skin and led your mind to new terrain. If these two acts are the start of a Boston Antifolk scene then I can't wait to see where it leads. It was all brought back home by Eric Wolfson and The War Cabinet who rocked the roof off and had 'em literally dancing in the aisles.
