Lach here writing from the East Village of dirty ol' New York City. My UK tour starts in a few days and I am revving engines at the starting line ready to blast out of the gate. Thunderbirds are definitely go!
There are so many great things about this tour. First off, eight of the gigs are co-billed with Neil Halstead who basically invented the whole 'shoe gaze' genre with his group Slowdive and then transfered that somber electricity into the acoustic singer vibe sorta like pumping Lou Reed's blood through Kris Kristofferson's veins. Don't be surprised if we end up pulling out some crazy cover to duet (duel?) on!
Second great thing about this tour is I have no new album to push! Yaaaaayyyy! Wait, why is that great? Because it frees me to play anything I damn please. So, yeah, you can expect songs from any of my past five releases, songs slated from my next album and whatever else pops into mind once the endorphins start pulsing away. No set list, requests encouraged, no rules!
OK, some other cool things about the tour: All the venues I'm playing are wonderful joints for intimate shows. From the O2 venues to places like Monto Water Rats in London,Latest Music Bar in Brighton, Bivouac in Lincoln, The Bowery in Edinburgh and Nation of Shopkeeper's in Leeds. The staff that run these stages are all first rate and completely aware of our scene and are looking forward to these nights as much as I am. The kind of support and freedom they've shown me is gonna make these nights freakin' historic!
So, I beg of you please, buy your tickets in advance. Click on the links below or go to the venue's websites and buy your tickets now. These nights will sell out and I don't want anyone from my personal email crew to miss out. I want to make sure each and everyone of you gets into these shows. I mean it, do it now, and then come to the shows early for the good seats and meet up with me afterwards at the merch tables or backstage to steal all that beer they always stack up for me!
