I've been hitting the Sidewalk's Open Stage recently to play out the songs I am preparing for the next album. There has always been a regular turnover of talent on the scene. One class graduates the next moves in but I've always been around in the past to watch it slowly happen. Having mostly been away from the scene this year it is a bit startling to walk in and not personally know everyone hanging out. The current vibe seems quite sedate and I find myself missing some of the chaos of past years. Polished songwriting seems to be more of the style du jour than passion, taking chances and soul disruption. Ah well, this to shall pass and in the meantime Crazy and The Brains are doing a damn good job of keeping things kicking. It'd be good to see a versus night twixt Crazy and Baglivi, wouldn't it? "This ain't the end of the world" vs "This is the end of the world"
