What wisdom, Patti, honestly. Ladies, the reasons for their lack of displays of empathy is as varied as the people... insensitivity, fear of saying/doing the wrong thing so they do nothing, being uncomfortable around someone enduring their greatest fear (as though superstitious that we are "contagious"), judgemental as to the reason *they* think we've suffered such tragedy... the list goes on and on and on and on.
It all comes down to this--treasure the handful that are the Lord's arms of love and voices of comfort, leave the others in God's hands to deal with, to discipline, or to correct, as they give Him access in their lives. Whatever you do, do NOT let satan plant seeds of bitterness or reap a harvest of tears from their ignorance.
I will be thinking of you all tomorrow, as we give thanks for the time we've had--and will one day have again--with our precious children now living in Heaven.
