Debra, I think people in our society have not been trained to think about others. They can quote the Golden Rule, but not many want to live by it. I am sorry for the hurt that you have endured. I won't make excuses for them because their actions are inexcusable. This time of year is so hard for all of us, I wish we didn't have to face the holidays. They aren't happy for me and I could do without them. There is such an emptiness in our hearts. I know that you are missing Dane. I think you said his brother and friends remembered his birthday?
