Building a relationship with Jesus has been a beautiful experience for me in the midst of my intense grieving and sadness in losing my beloved young son so tragically! It is hard to take up your cross and carry all the pain by yourself, so His will has been done in me, as I've turned control over all aspects of my life to HIM!
A very very dear friend had a braclet made for me after Shawn's death that I wear almost everyday. It symbolizes Psalm 23, and has colors representing Green Pastures, Still Waters, etc. She also gave me a book that I finally started reading this weekend (Shawn's death was 6 1/2 months ago). It is entitled "A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23" by W. Phillip Keller.
This book is beautifully written as the author describes the heart of Jesus and his love for his sheep (US). The author was once a shepherd in his early career then became an agrologist, journalist, lay speaker in Christianity. He compares how we are so similar to lost sheep. I would highly recommend this book to others, as it gives me great comfort!
