I,too, love Christmas, even though its sad this year. People seem to be treating me extra special. The senior ladies prayer group from church brought over some decorations from their collection, and last night I was at a party from the pregnancy center where I volunteer. We had a gift exchange, and mine contained figurines of a snowman and a caroller. On the way out, the director slipped me her gift as well, which was a snowman mug filled with candy, some nuts, and a box of tea.She said she had enough mugs and wanted to bless me with her gift, too.
I've always loved Christmas music. Hearing it in the stores just makes my heart leap! Everyone even seems to be in a better moood this time of year, and I think its because its the only time we can praise our Lord through the PA systems. People sense the words of the songs, even though they dont pay attention to them. Its still worship! Tonight our Singing Christmas tree cantata starts, which I am in. Its the highlight of my year, and even though we started practicing in Sept., just 2 weeks after C's death, I still wanted to be in it. I cried through the first 2 weeks of practice, but have overcome that. We now have 6 nightly performances to do. Its a lot of fun!
I finished my weekly councelling yesterday, and can come back as needed. In the last 10 weeks I've worked through much anger and unforgivness, and have a new sense of closeness to my Lord.He is so Awesome! Even though I'm still working through grief, I feel so much lighter! Keep hanging on to Him, and He will get you through this. Eva
