After church last night, a friend of Christinas and her mom, came up to me with a basket of small, wrapped gifts. They said they are not Christmas gifts (they are wrapped in paper with geometric designs)and told me to open one whenever I feel sad, lonely, or miss my daughter. They said they know getting through Christmas will be hard, and each one of this gifts are some kind of encouragment. Each has its own scripture attached.I was so touched by this, and think its a great idea.I opened one last night and it contained the book"Light for my Path" which is a book full of scriptures and small devotionals. I feel so special!
Also, I got a call yesterday from the mom of 2 daycare kids I used to look after. They are now 10 and 13, but I had them since infancy. She said I have been like a mom to her kids, and they all want me to come and spend Christmas morning with them. They wanted me to spend Christmas Eve there as well, and sleep over, but I cant leave my little kitty that long. He'd be sad without my head to sleep on. I was wondering what to do about Christmas. I go to my brothers for a family gathering in the afternooon, but would either have to be alone till then or spent the night at my moms(and bring the cat)and watch her get drunk and hung over.Being with a family that I care about deeply(complete with kids!) will be perfect!
Did any of you get the snow storm that ripped through the US and Canada? We got about 2 feet to dig through. Lots of fun... Eva
